I have blogged in the past that the US Department of Defense (DoD) has a certification program called the Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (UC APL). Devices used in DoD networks must be selected from this list.
I’m very pleased to report that the Juniper Networks SSG, ISG, and NS5200/5400 Firewalls, with ScreenOS 6.3, have recently been approved in the Firewall and the VPN category of the UC APL. Previously these devices were approved with ScreenOS 6.2 software.
This certification is an indication of Juniper Networks’ strong support for the UC APL process and commitment to our ScreenOS firewall customers. Some of the new functionality in ScreenOS 6.3 includes support for additional key exchange algorithms including Diffie-Hellman Group 14 and elliptical curve Diffie-Helman Groups 19 and 20, IKEv2 support, and Enhancements to IPv6 functionality including OSPFv3 support.
The certification memos are here-
NS5200/5400: Firewall, VPN
ISG1000/2000: Firewall, VPN
SSG520M and SSG550M: Firewall, VPN
SSG320M and SSG350M: Firewall, VPN
SSG140: Firewall, VPN
SSG20: Firewall, VPN
SSG5: Firewall, VPN
Juniper will be ending support of ScreenOS 6.2 by the end of the year, but support of ScreenOS 6.3 will extend through 2019.
