WATCH: 'The Pasta All Gay Men Love To Eat'

After the shocking claims yesterday that their company would never feature gay families in their advertisements and those taking issue with their stance could "eat another brand of pasta," Barilla Pasta has received international backlash and calls for a boycott against the company.

In response to Barilla's chairman citing "family values" and a sorry-not-sorry mentality to the international backlash, Adam Dubowsky and Jacob Soboroff of TakePart Live have produced a hilarious advertising spoof for the pasta brand. WATCH: The TomTato Is Here, And We Are Scared

We're all about combining potatoes and tomatoes together when cooking -- but the development of a new plant, the TomTato, has us a little weirded out. The TomTato, now available in the U.K., is a tomato and potato plant in one. Both the tomatoes and potatoes ripen at the same time.

Thompson & Morgan, the horticulture company behind the TomTato, says the the tomatoes are sweeter than most supermarket varieties. The TomTato is not genetically modified -- it is a grafted plant, meaning that tissue from one plant is attached to tissue from another.

A different version called the Potato Tom, made by another company, is available in New Zealand starting in October.

The TomTato lasts only one season.

WATCH: This Is One Housewife Barilla Pasta Would Approve Of!

After Barilla Pasta's chairman sparked international controversy by declaring that his company would never include same-sex families in their advertising, the gay parodies have been rolling in.

In this witty commentary on heteronormative culture incorporating everything from the Westboro Baptist Church to Stoli Vodka, Charlie Hides TV slams the "family value"-centered pasta brand. According to the filmmaker, he is embodying a character called Loretta Lee Jackson, "from a good 'sacred family' Mr Barilla would approve." Check out the video above!
